Meet Josh
Josh Bonner is a dedicated public servant, businessman, and military officer. Elected in 2016 to represent the citizens of Fayette and Coweta Counties in the Georgia House of Representatives, Josh has been committed to serving his community with integrity and passion.
In the Georgia House, Josh has been a champion for our Veteran community. He serves as Chairman of the Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee, which handles legislation and oversight related to Georgia's Department of Defense, military personnel, and organizations providing service to military veterans. He also serves as a member of the Appropriations, Economic Development and Tourism, Creative Arts and Entertainment, Human Relations and Aging, and the Industry and Labor Committees, demonstrating his broad range of interests and expertise in legislative matters.
Outside of his political duties, Josh is the owner of Southeast Properties, Inc., a commercial asset management and brokerage firm serving the South Metro area. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Josh received a commission in the United States Army, where he served as a Military Intelligence Officer on active duty before transitioning to the United States Army Reserves. In his military career, he has completed three overseas tours in support of the Global Waron Terror, including deployment to Iraq, and currently holds the rank of Colonel.
Josh is deeply involved in community initiatives and serves on the board of The Eden Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting veterans. He has also held leadership roles in various organizations, including as a past president of the Crossroads Christian School Parent Board, former Chairman of the Fayette County Republican Party, and former member of the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
Josh and his wife Michelle are proud parents of four children and are active members of New Hope Baptist Church,where Josh serves as a deacon and youth leader. Through his multifaceted roles in business, politics, the military, and community service, Josh Bonner continues to make meaningful contributions to the betterment of his community and the state of Georgia.
